As a Benefits HRIS Analyst, you will be responsible for having knowledge of our benefit plans, including but not limited to 401(k), health and welfare plans, flexible spending accounts, health care savings account, college 529 plan.... The Benefits Analyst will be relied on heavily to review & prepare billing payments to carriers & to reconcile enrollments against Payroll as well as carrier reports. They will play a key role in the development of processes/audits to ensure data quality control & maintenance within the HRIS system, working with HRIS and/or IT on HRIS configurations and reporting projects as necessary. All candidates must have a proven analytical background as the role also requires regulatory reporting, census reporting & cost analysis to be provided to Senior Management.

Benefits Enrollment Data Audit & Billing Reconciliation

  • Proactively analyzes the benefits data and benefits enrollment information in the HRIS system, identifying inconsistencies & ineligibilities where further research or enrollment / termination of enrollment is needed, and creating / implementing corrective actions.

  • Utilizing reports from Payroll system , Workday (HRIS) system, & billing invoices: conducts audits of enrollments & payroll deductions & our payments made to vendors

  • Has a strong understanding of benefits and benefit data integrations with carriers & consistently audits the transfer of information to the vendors.

  • Ability to work independently to perform data analysis, system configurations and audits.

Benefits Analytics & Reporting

  • Develops analytic reports related to benefit plan & eligibilities and cost analysis. Provides assistance with modeling and costing of plan related changes in support of federal regulations & organizational strategy

  • Participates in the research and design/modifications, as well as ongoing evaluation and development of improved operations to support all benefit plans

  • Maintains understanding of external benefit environment, including changes in legal, regulatory and best practice approaches.

  • Interface with HRIS on benefits related systems, requirements and tools

  • Creates and submits reports to meet regulatory compliance requirements

  • Manages budget reporting / payment of invoices

Benefit Plan Operations

  • 401(K) Plan : includes supporting regulatory required mailings, annual external audits and wiring payments to vendors, auditing files for accuracy and monitoring trends..

  • Flexible Spending Account (Dependent Care & Commuter): includes wiring payments to vendor, auditing for accuracy and monitoring trends.

  • College 529 Plan: Ensure contributions are sent to vendor for distribution to account, audit reports between Payroll & Vendor to ensure consistency.

  • Health Savings Account: wire contributions weekly to Mellon Bank & upload contribution information to Mellon’s secure website.

  • Work on various benefits related projects and Open Enrollment activities as needed

  • Insure timely payment of vendor bills, monitor trends in payments and investigates variances.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations that impact benefit plans including ACA reporting.

Candidates must have at minimum a Bachelor’s degree , preferably with a concentration in Business. Or 5+ years of relevant experience. Advanced in Microsoft Excel, specifically experienced in data manipulation and other Microsoft Office programs is required.
