Overview

Come join Burlington’s growing Human Resources team as a Benefits Specialist!
Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for day to day administration of benefit and retirement plans such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability plans, EAP and 401(k)

  • Facilitate new hire orientation

  • Assists with the Open Enrollment process

  • Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information includingcorresponding payroll deductions

  • Provide high level customer service to employees answering questions and researching/resolving problems with their insurance coverage.

  • Respond to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefit enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.

  • Ensure compliance with ERISA, DOL, COBRA, FMLA, and other state and federal laws and regulations that may impact the business and benefit plans.

  • Assists in developing, presenting, and disseminating communications information about open enrollment, new employee onboarding, and/or other key benefit events, including the employment status changes and benefits fair.

  • Perform user acceptance testing for HRIS benefit module, reporting and vendor sites

  • Process HRIS tasks related to Benefit eligibility

  • Complete and respond to Court Orders and other communications related to Statutory Regulations

  • Administer the tuition reimbursement program

  • Perform quality checks of benefits related data

  • Work with outside vendors to rectify eligibility and enrollment escalations

  • Responsible for running and processing weekly and monthly reports

  • Assists in identifying automation and streamlining of processes

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in employee benefits and applicable laws

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications Education

  • Candidates must have at minimum an associate degree. Bachelor’s Degree preferred
