Burlington Stores, Inc. is seeking a Construction Project Manager, to be based in the Houston, TX area. This position requires 7-10 years' experience in construction, including 5-7 years of experience in high-volume multi-site retail construction project management, and the ability to travel 75% of the time.
The Project Manager is responsible for overall project planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, project accounting and control, while providing technical direction and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
Oversee construction projects from start to finish.
Ensure the optimum utilization of resources, labor, materials, and equipment and ensure procurement at the most cost-effective terms.
Perform a key role in budgeting and identification of resources required.
Devise the project work plans and make recommendations for change as and when needed.
Review and maintain the project schedule.
Communicate effectively with contractors responsible for completing various phases of the project.
Coordinate the efforts of all parties involved in the project, including architects, contractors, laborers, and procurement.
Monitor progress of construction activities; hold regular status meetings with contractors.
Maintain strict adherence to budgetary guidelines, quality and safety standards.
Conduct weekly/bi-weekly inspection of construction sites.
Ensure project documents are complete.
Identify the elements of project design and construction that may give rise to disputes.
Understanding of compliance and managing risk.
Resolve conflicts and negotiate resolution to disagreements quickly and effectively, bringing a problem-solving attitude to conflicting approaches and priorities involving others.
Candidates must have at least a high school diploma. Strong construction knowledge a must. Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and web-based applications required.
