Overview

Come join our growing team at Burlington as a Manager, Corporate Systems II! The Manager of Corporate Systems will work closely with IT and business-unit management to align priorities and execute systems upgrades, enhancements and support of corporate users, and external vendors in accordance with the software development lifecycle (“SDLC”) and established support processes. Our ideal candidate will play a key role in managing and influencing the direction of the Corporate Systems footprint and vendor support model within the organization.

This individual will be focused on implementation and support of critical systems enabling Human Resources, Finance, Legal, Real Estate, Procurement, IT, and other corporate business units to support growth and decision-making. Primary Finance & HR systems include: General Ledger, Payables, Human Capital Management, Payroll and Time & Attendance/Workforce Management, Talent Management, Recruiting and Learning Management. EDI Support includes management of a team of EDI Coordinators, working closely with Vendor Relations to onboard new vendors and assist existing vendors, troubleshooting their issues with the Gateway and Translator.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Corporate Systems Application Development Team Leadership

  • Act as primary technical point of contact for new development and support of corporate, back-office and vendor-facing systems including HR applications, Finance/Payroll, Workforce Management, and other systems used by corporate business units such as procurement, real estate, legal, construction and other areas

  • Manage the prioritization and analysis of enhancements, bug fixes and integration requests

  • Develop staff through alignment on critical organizational initiatives as well as coaching and mentoring.

  • Succession planning and talent management to identify, challenge and groom IT staff for the next level for overall improvement of relevant skills within the Department resource pool

  • Mentoring and training of team resources in applicable skills, processes, and technologies

  • Monitor and proactively address application performance and security concerns

  • Support the Change, Compliance, Performance and Problem Management processes

EDI Support Team Leadership

  • Manage continuous process improvement of EDI vendor support – automating manual tasks and streamlining processes for efficiency and timely issue resolution

  • Build and foster strong working relationships with Vendor Relations and EDI Development teams, providing feedback on common problems and issue trends

  • Conduct staff meetings to help employees align their work with business goals

Business Relationship Management & IT Strategic Objectives:

  • Assist in crafting short and long-term applications roadmaps for Corporate Systems

  • Proactively work with key business partners including the Controller, Assistant Controller, Director of Payroll, VP of Tax, and VP HRIS, Benefits & Compensation, and other key stakeholders in the Finance, Procurement, HR, and Vendor Relations areas to establish priorities and manage projects

  • Participate in business meetings and steering committees as required

Education & Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in computer science, business or related technical field, or equivalent experience

Experience:

  • 5-10 years’ experience in leading successful development and implementation of projects in complex matrixed organization with numerous constituents

  • Experience managing high-performance, customer-focused work teams/support groups

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to successfully manage initiatives impacting multiple functions and business areas

  • Demonstrated competency in project and issue management, team leadership, with strong abilities in relationship management

  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks under time constraints

  • Ability to build and maintain customer relationships

  • Ability to lead projects and project team members to successful goal achievement

  • Able to present to mid-level and higher management
