As a Merchandise Planning Systems Administrator, you’ll responsible for Systems Management. Managing the key settings of the MFP (Merchandise Financial Planning) system suite for Burlington Stores. This associate frequently collaborates with IT partners and their manager to identify potential improvements, test implications of proposed changes, and implement changes to these systems. The MFP Admin works with the Corporate Planning team to support hierarchy change process. This associate’s responsibilities also include running standard reporting associated with the administration of the Planning systems and supporting ad-hoc reporting as needed.

Systems Management:

  • Manages and executes the administrative functions in support of the daily planning activities performed by the Planning group user base of approx. 150+ associates.

  • Monitors Location / Store inventory targets are complete and acceptable before the AMS load on a monthly basis. Partners with the appropriate parties to fix the issues.

  • Owns and oversees triaging and resolution of open tickets associated with MFP systems identified in ServiceNow

  • Gathers insight around logged issues and collaborates with business and IT to determine root cause and available solutions

  • Manages parameters in MFP systems and update as needed

  • Monitors nightly batch process and highlights any discrepancies (partnering with IT when necessary)

  • Ensures system functionality and compatibility with other Burlington systems

  • Utilizes the capabilities of the MFP system to manage the Pre-Season and In-Season metrics for different scenarios and “what if” analysis

  • Engages in high level editing and auditing of plans, forecasts, and goals at the direction of the supervisor

  • Coordinates with the business user plan changes and monitors the chain targets

  • Partners with and supports the Total Store, New Store, and eComm team with MFP deliverables

  • Validates restated plans / forecasts / history post-hierarchy changes.

Testing:

  • Guides IT partners in carrying out all the integration & functional testing and user acceptance testing (UAT) as needed

  • Executes ad-hoc maintenance of Allocation systems, in partnership with IT, including configuration changes

  • Coordinates with IT to implement standard and recurring coding changes to allocation systems and ad-hoc changes as directed by Director Merchandise Administration

  • Creates testing scripts for UAT

  • Executes UAT of proposed changes prior to implementation and escalates issues to Director Merchandise Administration

  • Executes formal review cycles with IT including informal review, formal review, testing sign-off, and quality assurance review

  • Ensures processes adherence for the new services provisioning and own/maintain key system processes updates

  • Collaborates with process owners to ensure the system adheres to all processes and policies

Reporting:

  • Responsible for providing standard reporting view of system usage to manager and escalating issues as appropriate

  • Works with manager to support ad-hoc reporting of Allocation metrics and systems

  • Logs, provides visibility to, and suggests opportunities to improve Allocation systems capabilities and/or reduce technical issues with allocation systems

Education and Qualifications:

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree and at least 3-5 years of experience in technical support and/or experience with retail merchandise planning systems. 1-3 years experience in project management is a plus
