Position Summary:

Responsible for financial & operational aspects of accounting operations as it relates to the Accounts Payable Departments. Acts as a liaison to all corporate departments and the vendor community, resolve operational issues and provide sound business advice based on the department’s standards. In addition, this position is responsible for updating and evaluating information presented in weekly and monthly reporting. Prepare account analysis and variance reporting. The Sr. Analyst will also assist in the preparation of client assistance deliverables for quarterly and annual financial statement audits, as well special projects and ad-hoc reporting. Will have an active role in new system implementations and ongoing system administration.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for preparation and analysis of the weekly and monthly management reporting of financial results for assigned areas within the Accounting Operation Area

  • Ensures timely payments of vendor invoices and expense vouchers and maintains accurate records and control reports.

  • Routine communication with all functional areas relating to financial and operational issues and deliverables

  • Demonstrate insightful use of financial data to provide practical advice to business partners and management in order to drive business results

  • Demonstrate a good understanding and knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, SOX compliance for all processes and procedures

  • Responsible for the quarterly and annual preparation and analysis of client assistance deliverables

  • Understand and facilitate the integration of business processes, technology and people to provide useful information to leadership team

  • Actively contribute to system implementation and special projects to improve efficiency and performance

  • Participate in the development, train and support staff development.

  • Research and resolve inquiries from all functional areas and outside clients

Education:

Four-year accounting/finance degree required, CPA, CFA, CMA, or MBA a plus.

Experience:

Minimum 3-4 years related work experience. – Retail experience a plus

Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience working independently and in groups in order to achieve departmental goals.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with management, peers and external parties

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability to work within deadlines and utilize resources to meet those deadlines

  • Ability to work with associates at all levels within the organization

  • Understanding of business, accounting, accounts payableand inventory policies

  • Strong understanding of Accounting Processes, procedures and internal controls

  • Strong understanding of common and unique business process and seasonal trends

  • Ability to take direction and assist in implementing changes

  • Ability to adapt to changing business environment

  • Understanding of and adherence to control procedures

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Stock ledger system, Micro Strategy and other reporting tools
