Reporting directly to our Chief Human Resources Officer, the SVP of Inclusion & Diversity will partner with our executive leadership team, senior leadership across the business, and key cross-functional teams to strategize, build and execute company-wide inclusion and diversity initiatives. As we advance our commitments in this space, this executive leader will implement strategies that optimize all aspects of inclusion and diversity in our talent, engagement, community, and business (customer and vendor) programs with a focus on driving meaningful business outcomes.
As SVP of Inclusion and Diversity You Will:
Evaluate, modify and enhance the strategy of the Inclusion & Diversity function, create short and long-term vision and programs for the company.
Be an ambassador and advocate for an inclusive workplace culture where everyone feels safe, respected, valued, and is encouraged to bring their full selves to work each day.
Advise the Executive Leadership Team, Senior Leadership, and the company’s Board of Directors (as needed) related to inclusion and diversity strategy and insights. Leverage established network to inform recommendations and best practices.
Partner closely with the broader Human Resource functions to ensure inclusion and diversity is a focus in their overall strategy and initiatives.
Partner with Talent Acquisition to create and drive diverse pipelines and foster diverse candidate pools through external recruitment efforts, as well as promotions and internal succession planning.
Collaborate with cross-functional business teams to ensure inclusion and diversity priorities are infused in associate and customer experiences with Burlington.
Determine appropriate resources to build the Inclusion & Diversity team.
Be a subject matter expert on relevant federal and state regulations and policies, KPIs, best practices related to inclusion and diversity.
Ensure Burlington’s inclusion and diversity priorities, initiatives, and commitments are well-communicated, highly visible, and widely advocated for across the company.
Lead internal Inclusion & Diversity Councils.
Enable creation and empowerment of Employee Resource Groups.
Be a leader who believes that systemic change starts with each of us taking personal responsibility. A role model of personal ownership and empowerment, advocating others to do the same.
15+ years operational leadership experience
3+ years of demonstrated success designing and delivering inclusion and diversity strategies with enterprise-wide scope and impact for a comparable size organization
Strong knowledge of inclusion and diversity best practices, forward thinker and active observer of trends across industries, as well as an established network in this space
A dynamic leader, skilled in leading groups and companies through change management
Strong sense of EQ and ability to strategically influence throughout an organization
The ability to influence cross functionally through relationship building at all levels
A deep passion for attracting and retaining diverse talent within the workplace
A balance of intellectual curiosity, creative thinking, and pragmatism
Ability to balance between strategic and tactical; prioritizing initiatives and resources accordingly
