In this role you will work with Information Technology and Business staff to plan, develop, test, and document programs to support business objectives. Individual will provide systems and procedural support as required throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Duties & Responsibilities:
Evaluates user / business requests for new or modified software applications to determine feasibility, cost and time required, compatibility with current system, and computer capabilities.
Consults with users to identify current operating procedures and clarify program objectives.
Assists users to solve operating problems.
Prepares flowcharts and diagrams to illustrate sequence of steps the program must follow and to describe logical operations involved.
Converts project specifications into sequence of detailed instructions and logical steps for program coding.
Designs user interfaces to accomplish goals of user request
Designs, develops, and tests code.
Installs, tests, troubleshoots, and corrects software applications.
Monitors performance of applications after implementation.
Analyzes code to detect syntax or logic errors during program test
Modifies applications to increase operational efficiency or to satisfy new requirements.
Writes documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, and corrections.
SDLC – Support the project life cycle implemented by the management team for requirements, design, build, UAT, and deployment.
Trains users to use programs and provides technical assistance.
Writes manual for users and support personnel to describe installation and operating procedures.
Provide supporting documentation for Support personnel
Reads manuals, periodicals, and technical reports to learn ways to develop programs that meet user requirements.
Store & Corporate support:
Provide Level 3 production support for assigned applications during, before, and after business hours as needed
Work closely with Store & Corporate personnel to provide short-term workarounds and long-term solutions to production problems
Perform maintenance for scheduled and unscheduled jobs
Education & Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in computer science, business or related technical field, or equivalent experience
Experience:
5 to 8 years related work experience in Retail IT.
Direct POS implementation experience preferably with Xstore 17 or above
Comfortable in an Agile or Iterative Delivery environment.
Understanding of DevOps philosophies and practices.
Regularly uses moderately complex oral and written skills. May train others in functional area and interact with others across the company and/or externally. May make presentations to department or management.
In-depth knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures with ability to use in varied situations.
Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated ability/experience engaging with end users and subject matter experts to elicit, identify, develop, and test requirements, leading small-scale development projects.
Must have a working knowledge of SDLC and Project Life Cycle methodologies
Formulates plan outlining steps required to develop program and submits plan to users for approval
Applies the concepts of System Acceptance and User Acceptance Testing during development process
Provide clear documentation for implementations
Ensures back out plans are addressed and documented
