Burlington Application Support Specialist II in Edgewater Park, New Jersey

Overview

Come join our growing team here at Burlington as an Application Support Specialist II! As part of the Application support team, you will be working side by side with our developers and business partners while participating in the support and management of our production applications. Your role requires quick assessment, triage and resolutions of technical issues impacting our environment and business operations.

This position will provide tier 2 level support for Burlington Stores Retail and Corporate applications. This includes, but it’s not limited to fix Point of Sale (POS), mPOS, Back-Office Application Suite, Store Operation Applications, DocMGR, TimeManagement, Reporting Systems, Software updates, maintenance and deployments. This person will support end users using their analytical, organizational and technical skills. The Application Support Analyst II will help identify trending issues and partner with Tier III support teams to find meantime workarounds and permanent solutions. ASAII will be Deployment SME on various IT initiatives therefore, will plan, communicate, execute and monitor software deployments.

Must be an excellent problem solver capable of juggling multiple tasks at once. Requires close attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills. Holiday, weekend, and on-call coverage required due to the nature of the retail environment and project work which occasionally occurs in the overnight hours (1AM – 7AM).

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with application owners to maximize system usage and functionality to best achieve their business objectives

  • Act as a liaison between application developer and the customer to provide technical information and updates, advise customers on basic configuration and functionality questions

  • Distributing and installing products, solutions, integrations and updates in production and test environments

  • Documenting deployment installations including version information according to procedures

  • Identifying and documenting bug details for Quality Assurance review

  • Monitor and resolve errors identifies on automated system logs

  • Handle production outages and issues in a timely and effective manner

  • Triage, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues at the application and database level

  • Identifying and escalating potential production issues to the appropriate level

  • Manage a queue of incoming service requests and incidents

Education and Qualifications:

  • College/Technical education and or work experience in the IT sector

  • At least 3 years IT/application support required

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience supporting retail solutions including POS and Back Office Software.

Licenses/Certification/Registration:

  • ITIL

  • A Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of retail IT hardware

  • Knowledge of any of the following is a strong plus; retail, merchandising, allocation, replenishment, supply chain, CRM, planning, MPOS, POS, sales reporting and system integration

  • Familiarity with SQL statements, preferred

  • Scripting (VBscript, MS-DOS, PowerShell) experience preferred

  • Effective interpersonal and influencing skills

  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgement

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office- specifically Excel and Word

  • Knowledge of ITIL best practices (a plus)
