The Industrial Engineer position supports the business through participation in the development of supply chain network and distribution center growth plans. Focus is on distribution center expansion and improvement projects aimed to improve the capacity and capabilities of our supply chain
The Project Engineer designs improvements to DC material handling layouts, operations, methods, materials usage, and work stations with the goal of improving processes and productivity. Also, this role maintains material handling documentation in partnership with the Engineering and Strategy teams. These activities directly impact throughput and increase cost savings across all distribution centers.
Support the design of material handling equipment incorporated into existing, new and expanded network buildings. Support capital projects when required with equipment research and scope of work development.
Collaborate with project managers and the engineering teams in their support of business objectives and expense and throughput improvement initiatives with conceptual and detailed material handling layouts, project tracking, and vendor communications
Execute the development and maintenance of accurate and effective CAD drawings of all distribution centers and warehouses. Maintain facility specification and information data sheets.
Create and track capital investment budgets. Develop and maintain cost databases to support development of the long term capital plan.
Support Procurement by coordinating capital approval processes, PO creation, and new vendor setup
Able to manage multiple tasks at once, prioritizing appropriately
Exposure to financial tracking and cost analysis
Strong ability to gather, analyze and interpret information
Effective planning, organization, and communication skills
Excellent PC skills – Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio
Our ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience in the design or engineering fields along with1-2 years of AutoCad Experience.
