For our corporate associates, there is never a “typical day at the office.” That’s because every department is plugged into our energizing, off-price model, and every team member is focused on driving our business.
Individuals with fresh, innovative ideas and strong entrepreneurial spirits flourish here. Whether you’re an experienced professional or you are looking to start your career, you’ll have an opportunity to develop and lead.
Our corporate associates work hard, but it’s not all work and no play. We enjoy a business casual environment and like having fun. We host various events throughout the year to show our appreciation for our associates. From holiday parties, theme days and competitions, to an annual breakfast served by members of the executive team – there is always something fun to look forward to!
Our Corporate Campus
In 2014, we completed construction and moved into our new corporate headquarters in Florence, New Jersey that highlights our team-centric culture, colorful aesthetics and open workspaces. Our work environments forge a strong identity and reinforce our corporate culture by:
- Including features that drive associate safety, support green initiatives and leverage smart technology
- Designing modern meeting and event spaces to foster collaboration
- Providing ample associate parking as well as visitor and expectant mother parking and car charging stations
- Supporting wellness with on-site fitness centers, healthy food choices and associate events that support better health.
We are continually enhancing our learning programs to ensure that our associates are growing in their careers.
We provide learning opportunities to prepare associates to reach their goals in a variety of different ways. Whether it's an online e-course, one of our popular Lunch & Learn events, or an instructor-led classroom session, we are dedicated to providing associates with the experiences, materials, and training they need to have a long and successful career.
We are committed to helping every member of our management team strengthen their skills and develop as leaders. All members of our corporate management team participate in our annual Summer Series. This multi-week classroom program brings managers from different departments together. Working collaboratively, our managers learn new skills and share their experiences. The Summer Series includes a professional facilitator, customized printed materials, and opportunities to apply lessons on-the-job.
Learning and Development Program (LEAD)
For our store management, we offer LEAD, a multi-week intensive program offered each summer. LEAD uses a variety of tools including online learning, webinars, and outside experts and facilitators. There is ongoing support and mentorship throughout the LEAD program. LEAD participants are hand selected by their regional leadership.
Store Manager Training Program (SMTP)
Whether new to store management or just new to Burlington, this four-week program introduces new managers to the people, processes and operations that will help them reach their goals and build successful teams.
Assistant Buyer Development Program
As you begin your journey as an Assistant Buyer, you will start by going through a hands-on 12-week on-boarding program where you will be trained on the off-price model, technical skills and be exposed to all the resources available to ensure your success. Through buying trips to NYC, classes in negotiation skills & comp shopping, and meetings with key members of our team, we help new assistant buyers get the skills they need to hit the ground running. At the conclusion of the program, you are placed on a buying team and will see first-hand the impact your input has on the achievement of sales.
Supply Chain Leader Development Program
Through our Supply Chain Leader Development Program you will be provided the opportunity to learn and develop your skills and talents through a structured curriculum of training and activities that will prepare you for a challenging leadership role in our Supply Chain organization.
Upon your arrival, you are welcomed by your mentor and the entire Supply Chain Team. We believe in providing a strong support system to ensure success. To build a solid foundation, the first 10 weeks of this 18-month program introduce you to our overall organization and Supply Chain operations in our Edgewater Park, New Jersey and San Bernardino, California facilities. For the remainder of the program, you are then given a variety of 4-6 month rotations, each with greater responsibility to stretch you to learn and grow. At the end of the 18 months, you are then assigned a leadership position in the Supply Chain organization.
